Fall is here, well maybe!

Well, we thought Fall was here by having beautiful weather temps in the low 70's with no humidity, but then this past week we have had temps in the 80's! It's nice to get a little taste of summer again before winter comes!

Of course our life has been extremely busy with something almost every night! Brian has been running the chains for the middle school football team 2 nights a week, our high school youth group (CYO) is up and running for the school year with more and more students attending each week! We have also had a couple of busy weekends.

Labor day weekend, we went to Omaha for Justin and Melissa's wedding! It was a gorgeous day and we had so much fun getting to visit with family we don't see that often. Beckett danced the night away with his cousins and fell in love with Anna Zingler(his cousin) and still asks for her today! It being Labor Day weekend we convinced Papa Joe, Mema Tracy and Uncle Kody and Karter to go to the Omaha Zoo! What a great weekend to pick on my part! Not!! Lines were out to the street and winding around every where! We did have a wonderful time and everyone enjoyed watching Beckett get so excited over every animal we saw!
A few weekends ago we went to Lincoln to visit Nana Dianna and Uncle B! We had a good time walking around the Farmers market, eating popcorn, real root beer, getting a balloon animal, picking up some Neb. Husker gear (to wear back home in Kansas!), and getting to go on the field watch the Neb. band practice (which Beckett loved)! Then Sunday we went and visited Great Great Grandma Dorothy in Omaha for her 90th birthday and got to visit the Finnell side family as well!
The next weekend Mema Tracy came down to visit us for her birthday weekend, which is becoming a tradition for her! We went to Octoberfest, which is a big outdoor craft show, then went to the Pumpkin Patch @the Red Barn in Weston, Mo. We also attended Applefest in Weston and at the Brewery for Lunch! Our big goal for the weekend was to switch our bedrooms and give Beckett our master bedroom! Perhaps that's a sign that our child has too many toys and doesn't need more, but we already have a list for his Birthday and Christmas! =) Mema Tracy brought Beckett down a big train table to put a track on and run his trains! He hasn't stopped playing with it yet, so it was a good switch to make so he could have his train table! Beckett is also in a big boy bed full time now, he does very well not getting out of it, except he falls a couple times a night out of bed! We are nice and cozy in our new room as well!

Well that's our fall so far in a nutshell! Hope your fall is going well, take a moment to watch the leaves turn colors, it won't be long and they will be gone! We love and miss you all!

I'm dreaming of a white Christmas......

I don't usually like to think about Christmas this time of year, but this summer has been a scorcher. Pretty much we have had 90+ weather with 100% humidity! Besides it being OVERLY hot, this summer we were OVERLY busy (hence why we haven't blogged since MAY!) Our summer start off with 3 trips to Lincoln, for Brenton's graduation, bachelor/ bachelorhette parties, and a wedding! It was nice to be back in the "Good Life" for a while and see friends but it made June fly by very quickly! We also, went to St. Louis for a conference that Brian had to attend, so Beckett and I got to stay with Anna, Drew and Alaire! We had a blast hanging out despite the trip to Urgent Care for Beckett!!

As for July not much of a break, we headed to Culbertson for the 4th of July and then to South Sioux and Rapid City, SD at the end of the month for a wedding! We had a big 1st for our family, as Brian and I left Beckett behind at "Mema and Papa's" and went on to Rapid City. Beckett did wonderful, until we came home and he realized we had been gone!! When we got back from the wedding Aunt Jenny and Uncle Derek came to visit for a few days! We loved having family around to share our town with! On top of all of the traveling I took two classes this summer and Brian did his usual maintenance work for the school district!

Beckett has grown and changed so much over the summer! He never stops talking regardless if we can understand what he is saying, he is on a mission and we will eventually figure out what he wants or is doing! We have tried potty training off and on now for a month or so but no luck being consistence! Beckett's favorite things to say is "I need it...." and "Who dat?"(perhaps a Saints fan!) Beckett last doc visit he was in the 90-95th % for his height and weight, finally catching up with his head, thankfully! =) He is such a smart boy and we have been so amazed watching him grow and learn new things every day! We have enter the terrible twos about 5 months too early!! He is very independent and knows exactly what he wants and when. Time out has been our savior!!

Once again we have another busy school year coming up and its only a week in!. Brian will be coaching JV & Varsity Girls basketball at the high school, as well as track. I am a para in the severe Special Ed room at the Elementary school with a wide variety of students but loving every minute of it! I am also taking online classes to obtain my degree in Elementary Ed/ Special Ed. After 200+ credits and lots of denial, I realized I was meant to be a teacher and have a soft heart for the SpEd rooms! I am very excited to finally be on the track to be done with school!

Well I believe that is all.. very short and sweet to sum up our summer! We have lots of pictures to post! Hope everyone who is reading this had a fantastic summer! We love and miss you all!
